General information only
The articles, product descriptions, guides and other content on the MediLane Pharmacy website are for general information. They are written to help you understand medicines and health products and to have better conversations with your doctor and pharmacist.
They are not medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment plan. They cannot take into account your age, weight, medical history, pregnancy or breastfeeding, allergies or the other medicines you take.
Not a substitute for professional advice
Always:
- follow the advice of your doctor or the prescriber who treats you
- read the label and patient information leaflet supplied with your medicine
- ask a pharmacist if you are unsure how to take a medicine, or whether it is suitable for you
Never:
- start, stop or change the dose of a prescribed medicine because of something you read on this website
- delay seeking medical help because of information on this website
- use website content to diagnose yourself or someone else
You can ask a pharmacist a question, call either branch, or visit us in person.
Emergencies
If you or someone else is seriously unwell, do not use this website or our contact form. Call Rescue 1122 or Edhi 115, or go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away.
Signs that need urgent help include difficulty breathing, chest pain, sudden weakness or confusion, severe bleeding, a serious allergic reaction, a seizure, or suspected poisoning or overdose.
Product information
We try to keep product information accurate and up to date. However:
- manufacturers can change formulations, pack sizes, packaging and leaflets
- product images are for illustration and may differ from the pack you receive
- product pages summarise information and do not include every warning, side effect or interaction
The label and leaflet in the pack are the most up-to-date source of information for that product. If anything on our website differs from the pack, follow the pack and ask a pharmacist.
Brand and generic medicines
We stock branded medicines and their generic equivalents. Information on our generic medicines page explains the difference in general terms. A generic medicine contains the same active ingredient as the brand, but it may look different and contain different inactive ingredients. Before switching between brands or generics of a prescribed medicine, check with your doctor or pharmacist, especially for long-term treatment.
Prescription-only medicines
Prescription-only medicines are supplied only against a valid prescription, checked by our pharmacists in line with Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and Sindh drug rules. Information about a prescription medicine on this website does not mean it is suitable for you, and it is not an offer to supply it without a prescription.
Upload your prescription on our prescriptions page. A pharmacist may contact you or your prescriber before supplying it.
Supplements, vitamins and devices
Vitamins, supplements and herbal products can affect other medicines and are not suitable for everyone. Medical devices such as thermometers, blood pressure monitors and glucose meters give readings that should be discussed with a doctor; they do not replace a medical check-up. See our vitamins and supplements and medical devices ranges for products, and ask a pharmacist before you start something new.
Side effects
All medicines can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. If you think you are having a side effect:
- Speak to your doctor or pharmacist.
- Seek urgent help if the reaction is severe.
- Report suspected side effects to the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP). Reporting helps make medicines safer for everyone.
You can also tell us, and our pharmacist can help you report it.
Articles and blog posts
Our blog articles are written and reviewed by the MediLane Pharmacy team for a general audience in Pakistan. They reflect general understanding at the time of writing. Medical knowledge changes, and an article may not reflect the latest guidance. The date on each article shows when it was published and last updated.
Where we mention organisations such as the World Health Organization or DRAP, we summarise their general guidance; please refer to the original source for full details.
Links to other websites
We may link to official or third-party health resources. We are not responsible for their content and do not necessarily endorse every view they express.
Liability
We take care to make our content accurate and useful, but we cannot accept responsibility for harm that results from relying on general website information instead of seeking professional advice. This does not limit any responsibility we have for the medicines we supply or for advice our pharmacists give you directly.
